{"id":785,"date":"2011-04-01T09:31:47","date_gmt":"2011-04-01T16:31:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.graywolfproductions.com\/parenting201\/?p=785"},"modified":"2011-04-01T09:31:47","modified_gmt":"2011-04-01T16:31:47","slug":"remembering-an-april-fool-day-from-the-past","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.graywolfproductions.com\/parenting201\/remembering-an-april-fool-day-from-the-past","title":{"rendered":"Remembering An April Fool Day From the Past"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"absMiddle\" alt=\"\" border=\"2\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.graywolfproductions.com\/parenting201\/wp-content\/uploads\/graywolfproductions_snow.bmp\" width=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,cursive;\">In Vermont you get a lot of snow &#8211; a real lot of snow!&nbsp; Schools rarely close unless it&#39;s really bad &#8211; or really unexpected &#8211; or both!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,cursive;\">For years, my son and I played April Fool tricks on each other &#8211; usually along the line of trying to get the other to look at some imaginary object or some event that was not actually happening.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,cursive;\">On April 1 of his year in VT there was a 2 foot snow storm and school <strong>was<\/strong> canceled.&nbsp; I knew he would not be happy if he got up and took a shower only to find out he could have slept in so I woke him around 5:30 AM to tell him there was no school due to a snow storm.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,cursive;\">His reply was along the lines of &quot;ha ha I know it&#39;s April Fool and I am not falling for that.&quot;&nbsp; I suggested he look out the window but as that had been our usual &quot;fool&quot; he refused.&nbsp; He got up and was heading for a shower and I tried most seriously to again tell him there was no school.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,cursive;\">I forget how I managed to convince him to look out a window &#8211; but he did.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,cursive;\">His words were not appropriate for a family-friendly blog so I won&#39;t print them<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.graywolfproductions.com\/parenting201\/wp-content\/plugins\/fckeditor-for-wordpress-plugin\/ckeditor\/plugins\/smiley\/images\/embaressed_smile.gif\" title=\"\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,cursive;\">It was such a funny experience I recall it most every April 1 &#8211; and especially on days like today when New England got hit with another April Fool snow storm!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,cursive;\">Happy April Fool <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,cursive;\">P.S.
