Over the past quarter century, an increasingly influential movement on the far right has waged a quiet war to undermine the Constitution. This movement has grown even more during the Bush years. Ultra-conservative judges, professors, funders, think tanks, lawmakers and activists are pursuing an agenda that would radically transform American life.<\/p>\n
“If they succeed,” says University of Chicago law professor Cass Sunstein, “we will, without really seeing it happen, end up with a very different country–one that’s both less free and less equal.”<\/p>\n
