A standard rule in Washington, D.C. is that when you want to bury news, especially bad news – you release it late Friday afternoon – so late that the evening newscasts may not see it.
\n\t<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n

Or may not have time to get a good handle on it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

So what can we say about Romney leaking the announcement that Paul Ryan was to be his running mate? That was leaked so late on a Friday night that it was being pondered and discussed well into Saturday early hours.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And the "official" announcement? That was set for Saturday 9AM EDT.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe Mittens was trying to look "cool" or different from usual Washington political rules by doing this – but I think he did to deflect from his income tax issue.
\n\t<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Why else leak it so late, and do the official thing so early?
\n\t<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On a weekend?
\n\t<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With the Olympics still on TV? <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With cable news able to stay on and talk and talk and ponder about your choice? [Even at midnight] <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Or – Maybe, just maybe the Romney campaign did know this was bad news? <\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n
