  • It’s Goslings! It’s Spring – Really Spring!

    gray wolf productions goslings

When you live in Portland – winter can be yukky wet [at least for me] and it's not great when winter weather keeps on into Spring.

BUT – when you see the first few batches of goslings – you sort of forget the yukky stuff and start counting babies. This is a neighborhood activity and we worry when some disappear and are happy when all of them make it to goose-adulthood!

Geese are very protective parents and you'll see one telling another to stay away from "MY" babies!

Next should come the baby mallards but they seem not to have produced many in the last few years. And they are not great parents :(

What makes it REALLY Spring for you?

  • Bottoms UP!!

Could not resist running for my camera today… it was like watching  synchronized swimmmers

  • My alarm clock: aka Doug’s duck

    duck

Every neighborhood needs a town crier or a roving alarm clock – doesn't it?

If you miss having one in your area, come visit ours :)

My neighbor, Doug, fed this duck once and the duck has returned every day  and quacks at Doug's house for more food.

And as Doug lives right next to me, I too am serenaded every day.

Also – the ducks are not afraid of my cat or dog [more on cat and ducks in another video]
