Superstitions: What Are Yours?

Written by

We all have some – they seem to be part of human nature.

Here are some I have met in my life….are any yours?

Stepping on the white lines on baseball fields?

[I never noticed this til my son pointed it out.]

Friday the 13th?

Any 13s?

Black cats?

Ladders?

Step on a crack – break your mother’s back?

Wearing specific clothing to take a test?

Special something to wear on a date?

Your lucky number[s] for playing the lottery?

Spitting on your hand when you pass a cemetery?

Any additions to the list?

Care to say how you "got" your superstiiton?

Thanks

I don’t step on sidewalk cracks; I don’t walk under ladders; I do have specific lottery numbers; I believe that ‘naming calls’; brides & grooms shouldn’t see each other before the wedding . . . I think it’s probably a pretty long list. But the thing that’s funny is that if someone were to ask if I was superstitious, I’d probably say something like “not particularly”. These things are so ingrained into my life, I don’t even really think about them, but every once in a while my husband will call me out. 😉

Thank you for that comment – you made me laugh 🙂 I’m guessing we all have such a list and we all deny we are superstitious???
